As a fan of old school boombap hip-hop and as a producer of that type of rap instrumentals I have to admit I often don't pay attention to the newest releases from new school artists such as A$AP Rocky, however this time I found out that I really missed out on something. A couple of days ago a friend of mine play his latest album "At Long Last A$AP" and withing the track this title came up "Holly Ghost". Not only that the beat is a classical slow hip-hop joint, that any purest would appreciate but also the lyrical part is something to consider as courageous rebellious deeper approach to hip-hop. In the track A$AP Rocky is not afraid to discuss his view on the church, priests and religion in general.
....However the link is bellow press play even if you are not a A$AP Rocky fan, even if you, like me, are a strong supporter of heavy boombap rap. |
